From demanding Service Provider networks to Enterprise customers in metropolitan areas to extending optical transport to customer premises facilities, Cisco Optical Platforms maximize service density and variety while delivering unprecedented services on demand through multiple data, storage and legacy networking support.
The Cisco Complete Optical Multiservice Edge and Transport (COMET) product line offers maximum service velocity, density, variety, and capacity, building the foundation to accelerate IP and Optical networking.
Cisco’s Optical MSxP Service Provider Solutions
Cisco’s Complete Optical Multiservice Edge Transport (COMET) portfolio includes three distinct solutions that are designed to increase Service Providers’ profitability while reducing network cost, operational expenses and infrastructure complexity. These innovative solutions include the ONS 15454 and ONS 15327 Multiservice Provisioning Platforms (MSPP), ONS 15600 Multiservice Switching Platform (MSSP), and ONS 15454 Multiservice Transport Platform (MSTP). Cisco’s MSxP solutions deliver multiservice support (TDM/voice, Ethernet/data, and storage services, etc.) on a single platform. These products support linear, mesh, and ring topologies. These flexible and modular platforms are designed to scale metro and central office (up to 96 OC-48s) networks while extending the, geographical reach of DWDM infrastructures. Cisco provides an integrated element management system—Cisco Transport Manager (CTM)—to provision, manage, and monitor all MSxP platforms (e.g., Edge, Metro and Core).
